Ministries @ Scrabo

Alongside the Sunday Services, Scrabo has a large range of ministries to cater for all ages. Some of the ministries operate at certain times of the year so remember to check the Scrabo Diary for full details.

Home Groups

First Sunday of The Month

On the first Sunday of each month from September through June we meet in Home Groups that replace the evening service. It is a great way to get to know people as we share God’s Word and life together.

Home Groups have three primary aims:

  1. An opportunity to reflect on God’s Word and consider its application to our daily lives,
  2. Fellowship through getting to know our brothers and sisters in the church,
  3. Support for each other in prayer and by practical means where required. For more information, contact Sam Phillips or email homegroups@scrabo.org.

Crafty Corner

Last Thursday of every month (the final one is end of May)

For more information, contact Gill McCormick or use the Contact Form.

All are welcome at Crafty Corner! You don’t need to have any crafting skills to enjoy a warm, friendly atmosphere. A typical evening starts with a cappuccino, home-made cakes and biscuits. Then we share a thought for the day based on the Bible and how we can have a living relationship with God.

We follow up with the craft activity that differs each month. Our past crafts include driftwood boats, soap-making, decoupage, book backing, dry felting, box making, garlands and marbling.

Monday Night Community Friendship Evening

Monday 7:00pm – 9:30pm (fortnightly) in the Minor Hall

The normal format consists of a quiz, refreshments and a short epilogue from the Bible.

Scrabo Toddlers

Men's Fellowship

Tuesday 10:30am-12:15pm (fortnightly)

Men from Scrabo church and beyond meet on alternate Tuesdays from September through May. Men of all ages and stages in faith journey attend. It is not limited to Scrabo men. Our aim is to get to know each other, foster good relationships and share our Christian faith. The autumn/winter programme finds us in Scrabo Hall for a free cup of tea/coffee and a scone followed by a talk relevant to men’s lives ending with Q&A. In early autumn (and again in the spring) we venture out to visit a variety of places and exhibitions.

Crèche

Ladies Precept Studies

Monday Evening or Wednesday Morning

A group of ladies committed to studying God’s word together, growing in knowledge and faith and cultivating hearts that are slowly becoming more like Christ. Our group includes ladies of all ages and stages of life from a wide variety of churches and backgrounds.  New ladies join us regularly.

Ladies Prayer and Missionary Group

This ministry is not running at present.

Each evening starts with a short Scripture reading and reflection. Then we pray for the Church as a whole and other issues as they arise. Most months this is followed by putting together parcels for missionaries. We end with a cup of tea and a chat. We’d love to see you along!
