| We believe: | |
| 7. | Salvation cannot be earned or deserved. It is God's free gift, given to those who repent of their sins and trust Jesus Christ, acknowledging Him both as Saviour and Lord. As a result of God's love and mercy those who put their trust in Christ receive complete forgiveness of sins and become children of God with eternal life which can never be lost. |
| 8. | The Lord Jesus Christ will return in person for those who have believed in Him, both those who have died and those who are alive at that time, and together they will be with Him forever. |
| 9. | For those who remain unsaved there will be a final judgement and eternal punishment. |
| 10. | The Holy Spirit indwells every believer from the moment of conversion. His task is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in the life of the believer producing increasing likeness to Christ in character and behaviour. It is the Holy Spirit who gives the power to fight against sin and to be a witness in the world. He also gives gifts to build up the church. |
| 11. | There is one universal church, the body of Christ. Christ is the head of the body into which all believers are baptised in the Holy Spirit at the moment of their conversion. |
| 12. | The local church is the local representation of the church universal and is made up of a group of believers who meet with a three fold purpose: |
| (a) | the praise and worship of God: |
| (b) | the upbuilding of each other in love; |
| (c) | witness to the world. |
| The local church is independent and self-governing under God, submitting to the authority of the Word of God, the Lordship of Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. | |
